Racing with Purpose

Cody Burcher, one of Australia’s most exciting young motorsport talents, has teamed up with Kids with Cancer Foundation as an Ambassador, dedicating his 2026 Super2 Series season to this Australian charity.

Kids with Cancer Foundation supports families facing a child’s cancer diagnosis through five programs including Family Financial Assistance, Care Packs 4 Kids, Wigs4Kids, Funding of Hospital Infrastructure and Clinician Positions, as well as vital Research.

To shine the light on the over 1,000 children diagnosed with cancer every year in Australia and the important work undertaken by Kids with Cancer Foundation in supporting these families, Cody will display Kids with Cancer Foundation branding on his Holden Commodore ZB for the first time in Darwin when he competes in the betr Darwin Triple Crown at Hidden Valley Raceway (19–21 June 2026). His race suit and helmet visor will carry Kids with Cancer Foundation’s colours too.

Cody is also working with Kids with Cancer Foundation to invite kids diagnosed with cancer and their families to experience exclusive pit lane and track access at race rounds through the year.

CEO of Kids with Cancer Foundation, Todd Prees, said: “We’re genuinely proud to have Cody Burcher on board. With every lap, we’re drawing attention to something too often unseen and unspoken — the challenges faced by Australian families navigating childhood cancer. It’s an opportunity to show our care and compassion, and to honour the incredible courage these families display every day”

The 23-year-old from Orange, NSW, who is currently competing in the 2026 Dunlop Super2 Series, the direct pathway to Australia’s premier Supercars Championship, is looking to give back, and carry a cause as well as a number, made possible by the remarkable generosity of the Montags.

Cody Burcher, Dunlop Super2 Series driver and Kids with Cancer Foundation Ambassador, said: “Racing has given me so much — opportunity, purpose, and a path I could never have imagined growing up. But the further I get in this sport, the more I want what I do to mean something beyond the race day results. Kids with Cancer Foundation supports kids and families going through some of the hardest moments of their lives, and they do it with a lot of heart. It was a no brainer to choose them because I believe in what they stand for and the impact they have. I want every kid to know that the whole motorsport community is cheering for them.”

How One Aussie Business Couple’s Belief in a Young Racer Is Helping Kids Facing Cancer

The story behind this partnership begins, as so many good ones do, with people who believed before anyone else did. Back in 2023, The Montag Family — founders of (AWCON), an Orange-based business they built from the ground up — spotted something special in a young local driver just stepping onto the national stage. They came on board as sponsors when Cody entered the Toyota 86 Series, and this relationship quickly became something more personal.

Their faith was rewarded immediately. In 2023 Cody won more races and rounds than any other driver, finishing the year 3rd in the championship. In 2024 Cody joined the Supercars pathway in the Super3 Series, where he dominated the championship from wire to wire, claiming eight wins and eight pole positions from ten races and wrapping up the title with a round to spare at Mount Panorama, just over an hour from home. He became the last ever Super3 champion as the category was folded into Super2 — cementing his name in Australian motorsport history all before his 22nd birthday. 2025 Cody made his Super2 debut, holding his own in one of the most competitive development fields the series has seen.

The Montag Family said: “We’ve watched Cody grow from a talented young kid with a dream into a genuine contender on the national stage, along the way, he’s become someone we truly care about. When we thought about what we wanted to do with this next chapter, it wasn’t a hard decision. Cody has the talent, the character, and the drive to go all the way — and we wanted the support we give him to mean something beyond the racetrack. Kids with Cancer Foundation does extraordinary work for families going through unimaginable things. If our support can help shine a light on that, then we couldn’t be prouder.”

For both Cody and the Montags, the choice of Kids with Cancer Foundation was a deeply considered one. Kids with Cancer Foundation’s focus on supporting the whole family through the practical, emotional, and financial challenges of childhood cancer resonated strongly. Cody, who has always been passionate about using his platform to make a real difference in people’s lives, saw in Kids with Cancer Foundation a chance to bring the excitement of motorsport to kids and families who need moments of joy and connection most.

As a Kids with Cancer Foundation Ambassador, Cody’s role goes well beyond carrying the Foundation’s livery on race day. The partnership is built around creating unforgettable experiences for children and families journeying through a childhood cancer diagnosis, such as getting them involved in the race team and Cody’s race car at rounds and aims to create moments that can cut through the hardest days.

Todd Prees, CEO of Kids with Cancer Foundation, said: “What the Montag family and Cody have done in gifting this opportunity to Kids with Cancer Foundation is an act of incredible generosity, and it speaks to the kind of generous support that can be found throughout our community. As a charity, we rely on the support of everyday people across Australia to donate, fundraise, and volunteer. It is this generosity which helps us provide our vital support programs to kids and their families. For the kids and families, we support, seeing Cody race for them on a national stage will mean more than we can put into words.”

Welcome to the Kids with Cancer Foundation family, Cody!
