When a child is diagnosed with cancer, hair loss can take away more than just hair; it can take away confidence, identity, and a sense of normality.
Wigs4Kids™ is one of our five programs, making today easier for kids with cancer. Through this program, hair donations and fundraising efforts help create bespoke human hair wigs for kids in need, made in Australia.
How Wigs4Kids™ Helps Kids with Cancer
While donated hair is an essential part of our program, fundraising is what covers the costs of transforming hair into wigs and provide ongoing support to kids with cancer and their families.
Funds raised help cover the cost of creating human hair bespoke wigs, Care Packs 4 Kids for children in hospital, financial support for families during treatment and support for children’s hospitals across Australia.

How To Get Involved
1. Start an Online Fundraiser
Create a fundraising page, share your story, and ask your community to support kids with cancer.
Many supporters turn their fundraiser into an event, hosting their “big chop” at school, work, at their hairdresser, or within their local community. For ideas or more information , contact us >> send us an email.
2. Donate Your Hair
Hair donation is a powerful way to stand with kids facing hair loss from cancer treatment.
To donate your hair, you’ll need to ensure it meets our donation guidelines (e.g., minimum length, hair condition). Your donation may be used to help create a bespoke wig for a child in need.
In May 2022, our 5-year-old was diagnosed with cancer. After processing this traumatic news, I knew that when she lost her hair this would be a scary and very significant thing for her to process on top of everything else. She’s very fond of her hair and is a very girly girl. I knew that a wig would make it much more manageable for her to process and deal with.
I called KWCF to ask for advice as I had no idea how to make this happen and I was instantly met with the kindest and most supportive voice on the end of the phone. KWCF made everything happen so quickly and easily and paid for a beautiful wig to be made just for our daughter.
We thank KWCF for her wig and the impact this had, and also for the other experiences they provided for my daughter and our family, bringing light and joy at a very hard time.

Hair loss due to cancer treatment can’t be prevented and starts as early as a week after treatment begins. Hair loss is often one of the first real outward signs of being sick, and it can be traumatic for children, affecting their confidence and self-esteem.
Kids with cancer often face immense challenges, and returning to school looking different from their friends can make it even harder.
By fundraising and donating hair for Wigs4Kids™, you help provide bespoke wigs that allow kids to feel more comfortable and confident in day-to-day activities and as they reintegrate into school life, making the transition a little easier.
